Tough Cookie Mom Rating: 5 out of 5!
Thanks to Sassy Baby for sending me their latest learning and development product, the Crib and Floor Mirror “Inspire Vision”. This product stood up to a true product test from my son.
The timing was perfect – I received the product when my baby was three months old; just as he was developing his eye-hand coordination and was becoming interested in colorful objects in front of him.
Wanting him to reach out for things, I placed him on his Boppy pillow on his tummy then place the Sassy Mirror in front of him. The result: he instantly reached out for the bumble bee on the side of the frame! After scrunching the wings on the green ladybug, he went on to watch himself in the mirror, all the while, fascinated with that gorgeous baby in the mirror that was looking back at him. The product has continued to keep his interest and has certainly added to his tummy time. Since he gets bored easily, when we place the Sassy Mirror in front of him during tummy time, it not only keeps him interested and less fussy, but it also encourages him to reach out and therefore, pick his head up – building his neck and back muscles.
Thanks to Sassy Mirror for sending me this wonderful product! Sassy Mirror says that they work closely with child development experts to “design Products with Purpose for your developing baby” and it shows.
Additional product information:
Crib and Floor Mirror (Birth & Up) Inspire Vision: This large, soft-framed, True Reflection™ mirror encourages baby’s developing vision by providing a sight that pleases her. Babies prefer to look at human faces from birth. Framed in a bold geometric pattern, the mirror can be hung from the crib rails at an angle so that a newborn can gaze into it while lying down, or it can be attached flat against the crib rails to accommodate a sitting baby. It stands on its own outside the crib, providing tummy-time enjoyment or entertainment for sitting babies. In one corner, baby will find a symmetrical bee with bold, high contrast stripes. The bee can be turned in either direction to make a clicking, dial sound. It has silky wings with raised top stitching and the wings crinkle to the touch. In the opposite corner, a red, black and white ladybug with a black and white tracker ball in its center aids in the development of visual perception. The ladybug rests on top of three textured leaves that crinkle to the touch and offer peek-a-boo play as baby lifts them to find a little purple and blue ant on the center leaf. Suggested retail price is $12.99.
